The ground-breaking innovations that big tech companies create are often the outcome of a variety of different views expressed by people with all sorts of varying world experiences. Hence, it's no surprise that some of tech's most prominent executives have taken to social media to denounce President Trump's new immigration ban that is sparking protests across the country. In effect, the tech industry's very busy model could now be viewed upon as being under siege by the new administration. Already, the CEOs of Microsoft ( MSFT ) , Apple ( AAPL ) , Netflix ( NFLX ) , Uber , Airbnb, Google ( GOOGL ) and Tesla ( TSLA ) slammed Trump's executive order, which could affect their own employees working here legally, as well as the companies voracious appetite for best in class talent. "As an immigrant and as a CEO, I've both experienced and seen the positive impact that immigration has on our company, for the country, and for the world," Microsoft CEO Satya Nadella said in a post on the company's newly acquired LinkedIn. Said Apple CEO Tim Cook in a memo to employees on the ban,"it's not a policy we support." To be sure, Trump has likely just injected a fresh risk for investors in the tech sector to consider. And it's a risk that has to be quickly assessed considering the Nasdaq Composite is hovering around record highs on the assumption tech's growth miracle continues unabated for the foreseeable future.
